Ferlin Husky was a prolific country hitmaker for more than two decades from the '50s through to the mid-'70s, racking up more than 40 hits, including his No. 1 debut hit duetting with Jean Shepard on "A Dear John Letter" and his country No. 1s "Gone" and "Wings Of A Dove", which also crossed over into the pop charts, all of which are featured here. He did not only record under his own name but started his career using the name of Terry Preston, as well as performing and recording humorous country material under his alter ego of Simon Crum, a hayseed character with a hillbilly slant on life. This great-value 80-track 3-CD set selects A & B sides from his singles released on Capitol during this period, including records released under the Terry Preston and Simon Crum identities. It features all the hits he had during this period, including Top 10 hits like "I Feel Better All Over", "Little Tom" and "A Fallen Star". He was a highly distinctive and versatile artist, and this collection provides an entertaining cross-section of a significant era in his career when he enjoyed his biggest hits.
