New live album "PFM sings de Andrè Anniversary" The live album "PFM canta de Andrè Anniversary" by PFM Premiata Forneria Marconi is available in a double CD version. On February 28, the album will also be released in digital and double vinyl. Produced and published by Aereostella, the album is distributed by Self Distribuzione and Pirames International, respectively for physical and digital. The songs were recorded during the 2023 and 2024 tour that celebrated 45 years (1978/1979) of the iconic partnership between the prog band and the Genoese singer-songwriter, a meeting that profoundly affected Italian music and gave life to a unique fusion between progressive rock and the poetry of the singer-songwriter. The album arrives in conjunction with the 85th anniversary of the birth of Fabrizio de Andrè (February 18, 1940). On one side there was de Andrè's poetry, intense and refined, accompanied until then by essential and minimal arrangements, as was customary in singer-songwriters of the time. On the other, PFM, one of the most innovative bands in the progressive rock scene, the only Italian prog band to climb the international charts and tour all over the world, ready to transform those melodies into something never heard before. The musicians of PFM reworked the structure of de Andrè's songs with bold and visionary arrangements, something they continue to do on tour today. The result was a masterpiece that marked a before and after in the way of conceiving live music in Italy. It was no longer just a matter of performing the songs as they had been recorded, but of giving them a new life, of reinventing them every night, in every concert.
